UNC Vending Machines

If there is one thing that has been consistently infuriating at UNC, it is the vending machines.

The first time I used a vending machine here was during orientation. I was trying to get a bag of Cheez-Its and the bag got stuck so I had to tilt the vending machine to get it.

The next time was in my residence hall during my first year. I put a 5 dollar bill in the drink machine and it got stuck. I got the 5 dollars back from Lenoir because apparently they give you money back for vending machine problems.

Then there will be times that you want a water from the vending machine and it gives you Mountain Dew, or you want a Pepsi and it gives you some kind of tea.

The one with the Starbucks Frappuccino’s you have to use cash because it struggles to read a credit card and you can’t use your one card expense account.

In the snack vending machines, food gets stuck all the time. So you have to suffer buying two Kit-Kats or Skittles or having none. Then it looks weird because you have two of the same snacks in your pocket.

The other week in the library I put a 5 dollar bill in the vending machine and the machine kept blinking and wouldn’t respond to any button. The last thing anyone wants when studying late in the library is to worry about losing money from a vending machine or getting the wrong item, so please UNC fix your vending machines.
